Turkey is geographically, politically and officially part of two continents - Europe and Asia. The smaller northwestern portion (Thrace) is part of Europe, while the larger portion (Anatolia) is part of Asia.

Founded in 1923 after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, Turkey is home to spectacular mountains, superb beaches and antiquities of all descriptions.

This fascinating country is a very popular tourist destination and one of the most intriguing countries on the planet.

Spain is located at the Iberian Península, of which it occupies approximately 80% (the remaining 20% are occupied by Portugal), in the southwest of Europe. In the north Spain borders on France and Andorra, with the Pyrenees as a natural frontier. Additionally the Balearic Islands (Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza) in the Mediterranean Sea, Canary Islands in Atlantic Ocean close to the Moroccian coast, and Ceuta and Melilla, located in northern Africa, are Spanish territory.

Crete as the largest island in Greece, Crete has more than its share of attractions. This 155 mile-long island is home to ruins of the Minoan and Venetian civilizations. Across this ancient island are numerous caves, cliffs, gorges and valleys to explore, as well as some of the best beaches in all of Greece.

This rugged island is renowned for sunshiny days and magnificent scenery. Crete is reached by air from destinations throughout the Mediterranean, and also by ferry from most coastal cities and islands in Greece.

The Netherlands, inhabited since the Ice Age, were invaded and then controlled by many factions over time, including the Romans, Germanic Franks and Spanish.

Via the (Dutch East and West India Companies) it once ruled its own worldwide empire of trade during much of the 17th and 18th Centuries.

This classic home of Rembrandt, windmills and tulips, is in a constant battle with the sea to save its land. In that effort it uses 1,500 miles of dikes, a tidal barrage and additional innovative technologies.
